Latest update for Huawei P20 Pro disables automatic AI on the Camera

Huawei started to deliver an OTA update for the Huawei P20 Pro which weighs at 525MB. The update in question brings August Security Patch along with some bugfixes and optimizations for the software and phone’s performance.

The update arrived with the CLT-L29 8.1.9.156(C432) build number, and for some reason, Huawei is using it to disable camera’s Master AI. Thankfully, users interested in enabling can still turn on the AI manually.

Gizchina News of the week

The Huawei P20 Pro features a triple-camera sensor with a 40MP RGB Sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP telephoto snapper. In order to combine these sensors and deliver the best possible results, the company’s introduced an AI that analyze the images captured by the sensors and adjust them in order to achieve the best results.

However, users are reporting that this AI simply resulted in oversaturated images. Huawei didn’t mention the reason for this issue but apparently introduced this option to let users choose either or not they want AI to adjust their pictures.
