Google’s First 2-in-1 Laptop Will Be Called Pixel Slate

The 2-in-1 tablets market is growing rapidly. Though this niche has been occupied by Chinese manufacturers mainly, the pioneers come from top brands such as Microsoft, Asus, Lenovo, etc. However, they all are priced too high. So many look towards Chinese tablet PC running not only on Windows but on Android as well. In this sense, there are mainly Chinese tablet PC coming with the mobile operating system of Google. But we know the latter has another operating system developed previously and appeared on a few laptops, such as the PixelBook. Seems Google is entering this market as well. The Google 2-in-1 laptop codenamed Nocturne has been leaked in various photos and documents previously. From those spotted photos, we learned it will look like the Microsoft Surface products. Thus, the Google Nocturne has been thought to be used as a tablet or a notebook depending on the situation. Today, we also were informed about its official name – the Google Pixel Slate.

Google Pixel Slate

According to Android Police, a credible source revealed that the device name has been determined. It will be called the Pixel Slate. Since the device can be transformed into a tablet form, it will also be Google’s first Chrome OS tablet.

As we said, the renderings of so-called Pixel Slate has been also exposed online. However, those renderings may not be the final form of the product. According to leaked news, the device, possibly called Pixel Slate, has a newly designed reel and bezel compared to the first-generation PixelBook and adopts the design of the fingerprint reader on the top border of the screen.

With the official launch of Google’s next-generation Pixel phone in October, we are also expected to see the true face of this two-in-one device in the near future.
