iPad Pro 2018: the first 3D images show a slim bezels

In the coming days, Apple could officially announce a new iPad Pro, very different from the current range. A special event could indeed be held before the end of October.

Meanwhile, Ben Geskin unveils on his Twitter account a 3D renderings of the very first iPad Pro 2018 with an edge-to-edge screen and no home button.

These 3D renderings allow to confirm the presence of TrueDepth system without even having to hide it in a notch as the last iPhones.

Gizchina News of the week

Apple may have discontinued the headphone jack on the iPhone, all iPad models still sport the beloved 3.5mm jack, including the 9.7 2018 model. If the new leak is any indication, the iPad Pro 2018 may also have it. The jack is clearly visible in one of the renders, though it’s hard to tell whether it’s there on the CAD models, due to the relatively low quality of some of the photos.

The CAD file shows a thickness of 5.85 mm, compared to 6.1 mm for the current iPad Pro 10.7 “and 6.9 mm on the 12.9” version. Clearly, the iPad Pro 2018 could be about 1 mm thinner.

We will see if the iPad keynote will be organized in late October or early November, knowing that the iPhone XR will be officially launched on October 28th. Apple may wait a few days before announcing new devices.
