As we are fastly nearing the release of Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, which is scheduled to happen on October 16, more and more details about the duo of smartphones are surfacing before the time. Today a new leak reveals, how much European customers that are interested in any of the devices will need to pay.
Gizchina News of the week
According to what seems to be a “trustable source”, the Mate 20 price will start at €799 (~$924) a €100 (~$124) difference over the Mate 10. When it comes to the most premium Mate 20 Pro, the device will be sold for a whooping amount of €1,079 (~$1249). That’s a huge difference when we compare the device to the last year’s Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Of course, since the last year, the iPhone X proved that manufacturers can cross the $1000 barrier, and release after release, companies are pushing forward the prices of its flagships. Huawei will not be an exception.
The price also puts the Huawei Mate 20 Pro in the same territory of the Apple recently released iPhone XS Max. However, it remains to be seen how the Chinese flagship will perform in this select market, and how many customers are willing to pay such amount for the sake of having a “Pro” smartphone.
As long as it gives me an underdisplay fingerprintreader, wireless charging and some other new bits and bobs (even better camera), then I’m down to upgrade from my already pretty dang sweet P20 Pro. Which I saw now goes for 649,- EUR and includes a Huawei M3 tablet as a freebie.
