A render posted on Weibo allegedly reveals an upcoming Oppo R19 that will feature an in-display front-facing camera. With the advent of bezel-less displays, some manufacturers have chosen the notch to house some sensors, and more importantly, the selfie snapper. The Oppo Find X and the Vivo NEX are good examples, of how some companies are trying to deal with the “notch haters” by adopting different ways to house the front camera. Apparently, Oppo will be going further in the next year, by introducing a brand new in-display selfie snapper.
We don’t know if this render is, in fact, inspired in something real or if it is just a new concept. However, we have no doubt that the majority of users would prefer to deal with this small circle beneath the screen, then the intrusive cutout called Notch. The back of the phone shows off a gradient color design, with a vertically aligned camera sensor placed on the middle. The phone resembles the Oppo R17.
Gizchina News of the week
Since OnePlus often “borrows” key design elements from smartphones launched by its “sister” company, we wouldn’t be surprised if the next OnePlus 7 or maybe the OnePlus 7T arrive with this in-display camera sensor. The render above was posted by a tipster on Weibo using the handle of IceUniverse, which has proved to be a reliable source of leaks. According to this render, the Oppo R19 is expected to come on March 2019, and if this design is real, we should expect to see more proof in the upcoming months.
As always we advise you to take the above renders with a pinch or two of salt, after all, they could be just an edited Oppo R17 without the waterdrop notch.
