Sony Xperia XZ2 is now receiving Android 9.0 Pie update

Xperia XZ2

After a couple of smartphones such as Essential PH-1 and OnePlus 6 received the update, it’s now time for Sony to update their Xperia XZ2 to the latest version of Android Pie. The list of Android smartphones running the latest 9.0 is slowly growing, and the Xperia XZ2 is a new member to join this select group of updated handsets.

Gizchina News of the week

The update weighs in at 1GB and carries the 52.0.A.3.27 build label. We suppose that this update is being rolled out in select markets, but it’s a matter of time to see the availability expanded to the rest of the globe. Since this is an OTA update, it may take several days to arrive for all eligible devices.

At last, there’s no word about the Android Pie update for the Xperia XZ2 Compact and XZ2 Premium, but we suppose to see the same OTA update arriving for both devices soon.

Have people actually been buying Sony Xperias these last few years?

They should rethink their approach to smartphone design. They’re actually quite exciting, I mean, they’re also a camera company, they are a huge sensor manufacturer and have those ties with Zeiss. Screens were, I believe, one of the first with an HDR capable display, Triluminous blabla and stuff. They make some of the best High-Res audio players and headphones. But… they just don’t know how to make smartphones look attractive to carry with you and use.
