Chinese phone maker Lenovo appears to be feeling really brave in this period so, after hyping up a smartphone that definitely did not live up to the expectations – we’re talking about the Lenovo Z5, of course – the company has now taken a very curious path – attacking Xiaomi and Honor.
Well, Lenovo isn’t attacking Xiaomi and Honor as a company, the focus is more on the phone makers’ latest lineup of mid-rangers such as the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and the Honor 8X.
Lenovo does indeed mock the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite for not having a telephoto lens, while the Honor 8X is attacked for being “bad” at low light photography and because it doesn’t sport a 20MP+12MP dual camera setup like the upcoming S5 Pro.

That’s not it though, Lenovo has some for the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE too, “the smartphone that doesn’t have a bright lens” with an aperture of F/1.9 – the S5 Pro will pack an F/1.8, with its bigger brother – the plain Mi 8 – being too dumb for selfies. Alright, they said it doesn’t have the same “AI capabilities” of the S5 Pro, think of it what you like.
Apparently at Lenovo they haven’t learned any lessons from the Lenovo Z5 debacle. Let’s see if this very weak marketing tactic will work any better.
