Huawei mocks Apple iPhone XR notch size

Today Huawei finally unveiled the devices under the Mate 20 series. During the launch event, the company decided to mock Apple and the bezels size of its most recent iPhone XR handset.

During the Apple event on September, everyone noticed that both the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR were quite similar, with the exception of the latter model bezels size. The company, however, never came to the public to specify how bigger the iPhone XR bezels are. Thankfully, Huawei decided to uncover this truth to everyone.

Gizchina News of the week

The iPhone XR bezel measures 5.1mm, which compares to 4.0mm for the bezel of the premium iPhone XS Max. While this is a tiny difference, the XR bezel is 27,5% larger than the XS Max. When it comes to the notch, the cheaper model measures 35.1mm versus the 34.5mm of the XS Max.

Huawei decided to expose Apple’s iPhone bezels in order to promote the tiny bezels of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The company’s premium flagship has 2.1mm of bezel, while the notch measures just 32.8mm, it’s not good as a waterdrop notch, but it’s smaller than the competition. Worth noting that the Mate 20 Pro has curved edges and a bigger display, but still, feels smaller than the 2019 iPhone models.
