Vivo Z3 officially announced with vivo’s proprietary dual turbo technology

Following series of teasers and leaked images, Vivo in the early hours of today officially announced the Vivo Z3 smartphone at the Beijing Lanjing Art Center in China. The device offers almost identical specifications to Vivo Z3i, but with a few refinements.

First, the Vivo Z3 comes with the same 6.3-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED 19:9 display with a 90.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio, a water-drop notch and will be available in  Starry Night Black, Dream Powder, Aurora Blue colour options. There are two vertically stacked cameras and a fingerprint scanner on the rear side, while the display notch is home to a single front-facing camera with support for infra-red face unlock.

At the heart of the new Vivo Z3 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset coupled with 6GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB RAM  storage combo, while there is also a version with 4GB+64GB, but with the Snapdragon 670 SoC. The SD 710 version comes with the Adreno 616 GPU and multi-core AI Engine which should deliver up to 35% increased graphics speed and improvements in on-device AI application performance respectively.

More importantly, the Vivo Z3 launches with Vivo’s Dual-Turbo twin-turbo engine which should better optimize the system performance and improve the gaming experience of the device.  In the photographic department, the new Vivo phone packs a dual rear camera setup – 16MP+2MP camera, with a 12MP sensor sitting inside the notch.

The device gets a 3315mAh battery with dual-engine flash charging technology, runs on Android 8, with support for 4G VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0.

The device is expected to go on sale from November 1 at a retail price of 1598 yuan/$230 for the base variant, 1898 yuan/ $274 for the 6GB+64GB variant and 2298 yuan/$330 for the 6GB+128GB variant respectively.
