OnePlus second flagship for the year- the OnePlus 6T will now launch on October 29, a day earlier than previously scheduled. The device was first officially scheduled to launch on October 30th, and why the change in the date you may ask? Well, for those in the know, Apple earlier this week sent out media invites to its launch event on the same date and City OnePlus earlier planned for the OnePlus 6T unveiling.
So to avoid a case of Apple getting all the attention to itself, CEO Pete Lau on behalf of the OnePlus in a lengthy Forum post revealed the change in plans, while also giving reasons for the difficult decision. The forum post reads in part: We couldn’t make this decision on our own. For hours, we talked to our press contacts to gain insight into how Apple’s announcement could affect the launch of the OnePlus 6T. We received, considered honest and thoughtful feedback. They showed us that if we chose to stick to our original timeline, launching the OnePlus 6T on October 30, we would be overshadowed by Apple.
