It seems Xiaomi is making a new addition to the Mi 8 Lite variant. The low-end version of the Mi 8 family with 8GB of RAM showed up on the Chinese certification agency TENAA with a new paint job.
According to the recent filings from the Chinese certification agency, the Mi 8 Lite with model number “M1808D2TT” will come with an upgrade in paint and RAM. The paint looks pretty impressive, it can be described as sporty or a dual-colour look.
As seen in the pictures, both the front and back of the device have a black finish with red or maybe orange frame and camera rims. One thing to be noted is that the original reports from TENAA featured a white Mi 8 Lite device which we haven’t seen yet.

The basic specification of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite are a 6.26-inch screen, 1080 x 2280 pixel IPS display, Snapdragon 660 chipset, 64GB or 128GB of storage (although there are mentions of 32GB and 256GB tiers scattered around TENAA as well). As for the camera on the back, the listing shows a 12MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor while the old device carries a 12MP primary sensor and an 5MP secondary sensor, the 24MP selfie camera remains unchanged on the new device. The battery, according to the listing, is 3250mAh battery which is a bit low compared to the 3350mAh on the old device.
Since the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite has been certified by TENAA we can expect an official announcement in the coming days.
