The latest flagship smartphones don’t come for cheap. Latest trends in the smartphone industry include an on-screen fingerprint sensor, pop-up camera, slide-screen design, and others. The Vivo Nex comes with a pop-up camera and an on-screen fingerprint sensor. These are features you will enjoy if you are willing to spend $499.99. However, note that the Nex series has two variants – VIVO NEX S and VIVO NEX A. In this deal, we refer to “Vivo Nex A” as simply “Vivo Nex”.
This smartphone is one of the earliest phones to use the Snapdragon 710 SoC behind Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. This pseudo-flagship chip delivers a flagship performance. It provides an AI performance two times better than the Snapdragon 660. It lies between Snapdragon 800 and Snapdragon 600 series SoCs. Taking a critical look at SD710, you will observe that it has many features from the high-end Snapdragon 845. The Vivo Nex processor is supported by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
This smartphone comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, a 2316×1080 resolution while its aspect ratio is 19.3:9. The display is large but the size of this phone is equivalent to a 5.7-inch traditional screen. Thus it can fit in a pocket seamlessly. In the camera department, we have an AI dual rear camera setup. It sports a 12MP +5MP dual-lens combination with DCI-P3 wide color gamut, enabling more accurate color capture. It provides AI scene recognition, AI backlight photo, AI filter, and AI composition. For selfies, the Vivo Nex comes with an 8MP shooter. This camera has a 1.4um pixel size, a f/1.8 aperture, full-pixel dual-core focusing technology, and supports high-precision 4-axis OIS + EIS technology.
Our protagonist is packed with a 4000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 out-of-the-box.
