Honor’s probably most interesting phone ever to hit the market is the upcoming Honor Magic 2, the smartphone with a sliding mechanism, just like the nearing Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 launching tomorrow.
Up until now we have had dozens of leaks and teasers but still no sure date of release, well, we now do have one and it is October 31st. Interestingly enough, exactly a week after Mi MIX 3’s unveiling.
The news was spread by Honor themselves which sent invites out for the event taking place at 19:00 in China. Inside the invite we also find a representation of the Kirin 980 along with an autograph of Zhao Ming, the president of Honor.
Gizchina News of the week
What’s funny though is that after you pull out the invite a male voice says “Hello, Yoyo” followed by a female voice answering “I’m here, what’s up?”.
The Honor Magic 2 is indeed expected to come with an AI assistant called “Yoyo” that the company claims has an IQ of 4,000.
Other than the special AI and a sliding design, the Honor Magic 2 will probably comes with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, a 3400mAh battery, a powerful Kirin 980 CPU, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. There will then be three cameras at the back and two at the front.
