While most smartphones makers are hell-bent on adopting the screen notch and sliding camera as a way of elevating bezels on their devices, ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia on its part is bus exploring a weird means of achieving the same purpose. We first got wind months ago of a dual screen Nubia touting smartphone that was set to hit the stage later this year, and now, the firm is all now set to set the ball rolling.
Set for an official unveiling on October 31st, the dual screen Nubia phone is dubbed Nubia X, and while the firm has been tight-lipped on what we might possibly expect the device to bring to the table, a new teaser posted on its Weibo page may have given us the best details ever.
according to the ZTE sub-brand, the Nubia when released would come with a price tag that is way above even the best of the Galaxy smartphone and the iPhone XS Max. The company says you should be able to part way with up to CNY 10,000 ($1,440), although we are not sure if this will be the price for a base model or the most sophisticated option.

And what would one get in exchange for CNY 10,000 ($1,440) you may ask? Well, the company is teasing the Nubia X as a device with virtually 100% screen-to-body ratio without a notch and front-facing camera, as it depends only on the back camera only for selfies. And while Nubia also seems to suggest the Nubia X will feature a flexible OLED panel, which allows it to be curved towards the sides, it also highlighted that the device will come with AI rear display which seems to suggest that the rear display will not only act as a secondary display but could also act as its shell by display different themes.
Lastly, Nubia is also teasing the device as a Gaming-ready hardware with a reference to PUBG Mobile, will come with eye-protecting screen mode as well as WiFi charging technology – whatever that means.
Although the device already appeared on TENAA’s database, we just have to wait until the official launch so we can have first-class information on these exciting specs.
