Yesterday, the Apple of China, Xiaomi has started a photography contest called Xiaomi Photographic Challenge with a total prize pool of $50,000. Participants can submit photos, exclusively taken with one of Xiaomi smartphones, until November 23rd. The winner will be chosen by “Global” fans of the company.
The participants need to submit an unedited picture into one of the four categories: Natural look, Piece of the world, Dreamscaper and Why so serious. These pictures should contain EXIF info and a range size between 300KB and 10MB. Each participant will need to submit six pictures, the photos must receive three or more “likes” from “Global” fans.

After this round, the pictures will be evaluated by judges that will eliminate pictures until only 100 are remaining (25 per category). From November 27th to December 6th, the 100 remaining pictures will be voted by “Xiaomi Global fans.”
The first prize winner will receive $10,000 USD, while the second prize winner in each of the four categories will receive $2,000 USD each. The four third prize winners will be awarded $500 USD each. All winners will need to send a copy of their passport to Xiaomi in order to claim their prizes.
