The Nokia 6.1 was one of the first devices released by HMD Global in 2018. The smartphone debuted with Android 8.1 Oreo straight ou the box, but soon after Pie release the company promised to deliver the update. Today is the big day for all owners of the midrange device since HMD is finally seeding the Android 9 Pie update to the handset.
The update rollout was confirmed on Twitter by the company’s Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas. The Nokia 6.1 follows the path traced by Nokia 7 Plus and now is one of the few smartphones in the market running the latest flavor of Google’s software.
