Huawei Watch 1 and 2 receive a new Wear OS update

No matter how less interesting smartwatches become 1-year after its release, Huawei seems to be committed to keeping support for its wearables. Today the Chinese Behemoth is rolling out a new update for the Huawei Watch 1 and 2, in order to make the devices faster than ever.

Unfortunately, the company didn’t provide a changelog for this update and everything we know is based on users reports published on Reddit. According to these reports, Google Play now launches faster and allow users to choose the way they want to open the app. Users can opt between a double-click on the bottom function key or via the drop-down status bar.

The UI also received a new refreshment. If you Swipe right you can access Google Fit instead of Health, and swiping left will take you into Google Assistant menu. There are no reports of issues, lags or bugs during the usage on both the smartwatches. So Huawei has made a really good job and provided some extra longevity to the former smartwatches.

Users will receive the update gradually, but you can always try to reboot your smartwatch to try to force the update check.
