The owners of Pocophone F1, the smartphone of Xiaomi that despite some flaws offers an excellent price/performance ratio, are looking forward to the expected release of Android 9 Pie update in the next few weeks, but now we know that the phone will also receive the update to Android Q next year.
The confirmation came a couple of days ago via Twitter from Jai Mani, Head of Product of POCOPHONE Global. Responding to the request of a user, who asked about the updates, the executive confirmed that the smartphone will receive at least two major updates the Android P and Q.
Gizchina News of the week
It must be said that, following the example of many manufacturers, Pocophone F1 was marketed with Android 8.1 Oreo, so the promise to bring at least two updates could imply a support of just over 12 months. This is a “trick” put in place by many companies, which despite having more updated versions of Android prefer to install a previous version, making a good impression with two updates and effectively reducing the support to less than two years.
Beyond that, the company has confirmed a series of updates based on user feedback, as posted on their official forums, with updates to include HD Netflix support and increased camera recording capabilities.
