Xiaomi trolls OnePlus 6T with a calculator giveaway; puts Poco F1 price on the table

Xiaomi redefined the “trolling” ways with a very creative idea. During the OnePlus 6T launch in New Delhi, India, the company decided to giveaway calculators for the people lining for the OnePlus 6T release. People who received the calculator had to “Do the Math” to see how much Poco F1 is cheaper when compared to the OnePlus flagship.

The Apple of China continued his trolling campaign on Twitter, making fun of OnePlus slogan “NeverSettle” and explaining that with Poco F1 you can get the same processor, RAM, more Battery, and a Headphone Jack, all them in separated posts, for INR20,999 (~$285) rather than INR37,999 (~$517).

The company really looks funny and all, but Xiaomi omitted some important differences between the two devices. In a serious way, they can’t be compared. Poco F1 has a simple LCD IPS Panel, OnePlus has an AMOLED display. Poco F1 has a huge notch, while the OP6T arrives with a less intrusive teardrop notch. Poco F1 has a plastic build, OP6T mixes aluminum and glass. And at last, the Poco F1 comes with a standard rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, while the OnePlus 6T has a brand new in-display sensor.

What remains to be seen is if the OnePlus will take this fun to the heart and will prepare a response to Xiaomi’s Poco.

OK so the OnePlus 6T has some additional features and some nice stuff but most of these are not really that important ( at least to me ) while the price is almost double. You have to wonder if it’s really worth it.
For some it might be but for me it’s really not. OnePlus started with cheap flagships but their current offering is not so cheap anymore.

Poco has bigger battery, SD slot, 3.5mm..
Its screen is sharper (hello pentile arragement of oneplus)
IMO, Poco is on the very same level as samsung, huawei or xiaomi
every flagship has compromises (e.g. cheap glass/aluminum instead of ceramics/steel, low-res AMOLED, lack of IR transmitter and many more)
But the compromises of poco are alearly translated into its low price

I had a OnePlus one OnePlus 2 which were great phones at a great price and you actually felt a bit like you were part of something, I was pretty active one the forum and really enjoyed it. I moved away from OnePlus to a Huawei device for a couple of years but then went back to OnePlus for the 5 only because my service provider was doing a sensational deal and I really disliked it from the beginning it looked and felt like every other generic rectangular slab and by having the forum app pre installed it really dragged the place down. I took advantage of the 14 day return and got a Huawei mate 10 pro instead which I absolutely loved at only a couple of pounds extra a month than the OnePlus 5t, happy days. I very recently got an Honor note 10 from Ali Express for £280 which I consider a steal, a superb device, 7″ amoled screen, dolby stereo speakers, a gaming performance button which may or may not be a bit of a gimmick and lots of other good stuff. I would not go back to OnePlus now they’re no longer great value.
