The Samsung Developers Conference has kicked off Yesterday night and its opening event has brought us some interesting developments such as the new interface One UI and a first look at the future of foldable smartphones.
Samsung has spent a lot of time talking about the evolution of their screens to date and how they will evolve in the future. One of the images shown by Samsung shows that, in the future, the company plans to adopt various notch designs.
Until Now, Samsung has kept out of the fashion of the notch but the image below gives us a good idea of the designs that we will begin to see in 2019.
Gizchina News of the week
“Let’s move on, Frames will shrink even more” said Hassan Anjum, director of product marketing at Samsung. “We are going to push the boundaries with our new product line: the Infinity U, V and O screens. These are new concepts that are just around the corner, and I can not wait to tell you more about them.”
The first design is Infinity U, which has a similar appearance to the Notch of the Essential Phone, since it is a small oval cut the top edge of the screen. The Infinity V design is similar but with straight edges instead of the half oval curvature.
The Infinity O design shows a completely circular hole in the top left corner of the screen. Unless it is very small, it does not seem to offer any advantage over the previous ones.
Finally, the New Infinity design seems to be a full screen, without notches, although Samsung has not talked about this design, it could also be a sliding phone in the style of Oppo Find X.
Anyway, everything points to that soon we will begin to see Galaxy smartphones with notches.
