Google announce new AI features for the Gboard App

AI is finally becoming a thing in the smartphone industry. No matter if it feels like just another gimmick some smartphones, or if there is actually an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) driving the artificial intelligence in the other select part of Android handsets. More and more companies are looking into ways of bringing the system into their products. Google, a pioneer, in this field, is always showing commitment on this part and announced that new update is coming for the Gboard Keyboard app in order to make better use of the AI implementation.

Starting today, users of the Gboard App will get a series of new AI improvements that will allow them to express their feeling through a series of Gifs, Emoji or Stickers, in less time and with few touches on the screen. Moreover, the update will allow the Gboard to suggest any kind of Gifs, Stickers or Emojis based on users tastes and preferences. Gboard will know your preferences and will suggest accordingly.

Users that are willing to test this new feature will be able to enjoy the improvements in AI by pressing the “GIF” icon that will pop-out in the left corner of the keyboard during conversations. Once users press the GIF button, a list of select GIFs, Emojis or Stickers will show up.

Google states that while this feature is only available in English, support for more languages will come in the coming months.
