MIIT: Autopilot smart chip to materialize in 2020

Most of the technological advancement churned out of China passes through the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Recently, MIIT issued the “New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Key Tasks Work Plan”. It said that by 2020, there should be a breakthrough in certain research areas such as autopilot smart chip, vehicle intelligence algorithm, and automatic driving.

It also claims that there should be a breakthrough in intelligent service robot environment, natural interaction, independent learning, human-machine collaboration, etc., Well, if all goes according to play, the year 2020 will be technologically massive but there is no time-frame for the mass production and application of intelligent home service robots and intelligent public service robots.

As of now, the intelligent consumer-grade UAV three-axis mechanical stabilization pan/tilt accuracy reaches 0.005 degrees, achieving 360-degree omnidirectional sensing obstacle avoidance. More than 90% of China’s broadband access rates and delays meet the application needs of the artificial intelligence industry, and the industrial Internet demonstration construction covering the entire production process is implemented in key enterprises. Vehicle networking facilities will be initially established in key areas before spreading out to less lucrative regions.
