Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ Receive Android 9 Pie in South Korea

The much awaited and well received new One UI from Samsung is apparently already getting on some devices, at least over in South Korea. The update is only in beta at this time and it can be run on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, with the Note9 model that should also get it any moment, while the older Samsung S8, S8+ and Note 8 will have to wait for the official release, no beta for them.

The One UI brings Android 9.0 Pie to Samsung’s 2019 flagships, along with the new user interface and the possibility of using Samsung DeX without the special accessory from Samsung, instead any USB Type-C to HDMI adapter can be used to bring an almost full “desktop” experience to your TV.

In addition to the new look, many Samsung apps will also be updated through the Galaxy App store. Among them, the updates that stick out the most are the ones on the Samsung Pay app which can now manage debit cards, while the new Samsung file browser will analyze files in storage and delete the useless data.

Finally, the One UI Android 9 Pie update is 1.9GB in size, so you probably want to do it while on WiFi.
