We have previously reported that Sony had planned to push the Android 9 Pie update for Xperia XZ2 Premium, Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact on October 26. However, due to some new software-level bugs in the new system, the company temporarily postpone the system update release. After the problem was resolved, the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact received the Android 9 Pie update but the Xperia XZ2 Premium had to wait. Finally, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has also updated today and users can now download the update.

Its firmware number is 52.0.A.3.84. This firmware update also comes with the latest Android security patch for November 2018. This update comes with a couple of features which include a new camera interface. As for the Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia XA2 Plus, the Android 9 Pie update will be received on March 4th next year.
