Earlier today we have been surprised by a huge leak revealing the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 in all its glory. The leak in question has surfaced through a video from the YouTube tech channel GadgetsNow. The video was removed a few minutes after the upload, and now Asus Indonesia Twitter account tweeted out an official teaser for the handset.

Funnily, the Tweet tries to mislead us to believe that the Max Pro M2 has a triple-camera setup and we already know that this isn’t the case. Judging by the leaked video the third element in the vertical setup is a LED flash. The second generation of the popular Android One smartphone will be unveiled on December 11, and the tweet comes to tease how the 5,000mAh battery makes this smartphone stands out against the competition.
The company also promises a better gaming experience which hints the presence of a more powerful chipset. The company pushes forward the #NextGenerationGaming hashtag in a hope that potential customers buy the idea. Considering that the original M1 has shipped with Snapdragon 636, and the Snapdragon 710 is on a higher segment, the next chipset employed in the Pro <2 should be the Snapdragon 660.
A wide part of customers will be sad to hear the notch will land in Asus midrange segment, and the Zenfone Max Pro M2 will also bring the controversial design. The handset will come with a 13MP f/2.0 front-facing camera that will work alongside a LED flash to bring better selfies in darker conditions. As for the rear camera, it should ship with a Sony IMX486 f/1.8 sensor paired with a secondary 5MP camera. Last but not least, there’s an important detail about the Zenfone Max Pro M2, the device will bring a Stock Android, but not Android One and won’t be treated like an Android One device. So potential customers will need to have in mind that all future updates will come exclusively from Asus since there’s no Google influence over the smartphone.
