LG wants to save its smartphone division thanks to its TV boss

As we all know, LG is not doing very well in the smartphone world, so much so that there was a rumor of a possible withdrawal of the company from this field. LG has not become so important thanks to its smartphones, but as a major manufacturer of home appliances, especially televisions in recent years.

For this reason, in the hope that it will lead to a reversal of the situation, Brian Kwon, or who has led the division of home entertainment in the company so far, from December 1 will become the new leader of the mobile communications division of LG. In addition, LG Electronics CEO Jo Seong-jin will take a small step back, delegating everyday responsibilities to President David Jung, to focus on future strategies.

Gizchina News of the week

It is not easy to understand what the South Korean company’s smartphone sales could raise, given that this year too it produced some great smartphones, complete in every aspect, like the G7 ThinQ and the V40 ThinQ. Is there simply a need for something new that causes a sensation? Only Brian Kwon knows it and we just have to wait.

All new assignments are effective as of December 1, 2018. So we may see significant changes in the company’s strategy at the beginning of the new year.

Price is an important factor too. LG phones are quite expensive and in the past some that I have had were not really that reliable.

I would rather get a Xiaomi instead as at least they are cheaper.
