A couple of reports in the OnePlus product forums have surfaced with complaints about a wave of static that some OnePlus 6T users are seeing on their screens. Those complaints started back in the first week of November and now have already completed three pages full of reports from different users that are being affected by this issue.
A video was uploaded in YouTube to show how the issue is affecting the OnePlus 6T. The issue seems to happen every now and then and seems to be happening in a limited amount of devices. Users and testers still couldn’t find the reason or if there is any trigger causing this issue.
Gizchina News of the week
Some users tried to perform a Factory Reset, but this didn’t stop the static wave from coming back. According to some reports, the static wave seems to be appearing after users unlock the device using either Screen Unlock in-display fingerprint scanner, or through the Facial Recognition System.
Users that are being affected by this issue are hoping that this is a simple software issue that can be solved through an update. However, if it’s something in the hardware causing the problem, things will be more complicated. Unfortunately, OnePlus didn’t respond to the case, and there’s no signal that an update is coming to fix the problem. Still, we are sure that someone inside OnePlus is following the issue and studying the case. For now, users will have to wait.
