Qualcomm announces the first batch of OEMs to use its 5G equipment


Today at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit held in Hawaii, Qualcomm announced the world’s first fully integrated 5G new air interface (5G NR) and subsequently released the much-awaited Snapdragon 855 5G SoC.

At the summit, Qualcomm’s President, Cristiano Amon, announced the list of vendors that will launch 5G smartphones using Qualcomm’s equipment next year. The list includes ASUS, Fujitsu, Google, HMD (Nokia), HTC, LG, Motorola, OnePlus, OPPO, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, ZTE, and other less known manufacturers. Obviously missing from the list are the likes of Meizu and Smartisan.
