ASUS isn’t terminating its Zenfone series, company debunks rumors


ASUS has confirmed it won’t ditch its Zenfone line of Smartphone, contrary to rumors that made the headlines a few hours back. The company made the clarification in a statement released to Gadgets360, saying it will continue developing the series, while also focusing on developing better phones for gamers and power users.

Following the resignation of its decade-long CEO Jerry Shen, word started spreading that the firm will abandon its Zenfone series to pay more attention to gaming Smartphone like its ASUS ROG Phone. The rumors elicited curiosity among the tech community which explains why Gagets360 sought for clarification from the firm.

“With regard to doubts raised by some on the continuation of the ZenFone brand, we confirm that we will continue to develop the ZenFone series, while also aiming to expand the gaming smartphone market. We will focus on perfecting solutions for gamers and power users.”

With the clarification, ASUS has clearly stated the Zenfone line isn’t fading out soon; however, more of the company’s focus will be shifted to developing better phones for gamers and power users. So if you’ve enjoyed ASUS ROG phone, then you’ll be glad to know that more devices of this kind will come, possibly alongside Asus upcoming line of flagship smartphones.

We reported a few days back that the Taiwanese company bided goodbye to its charismatic CEO, Jerry Shen, after almost 11 years. Mr.Shen duties will be shared between SY Hsu and Samson Hu. According to Engadget, the PC business head and global customer service lead are to adopt co-CEO positions starting January 1, 2019.
