Back in October, WhatsApp had announced beta mode which contained picture-in-picture (PiP) feature. However now, the company has decided to roll out the picture-in-picture feature for Android built users. The latest WhatsApp, version 2.18.380 will allow users to watch Instagram, YouTube and Facebook videos in a small window simultaneously while you are in a conversation on the App. If you are an iPhone user you may have to wait a little longer till January to experience a similar feature.
How to use Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode?

Basically, this function works in both individual as well as group chats. All you need to do is just tap the shared video link while in a chat, a small screen will pop up which will automatically play the video on top of your WhatsApp chat. This means you won’t have to come out of the chat to play the provided video and plus you can continue your conversation while playing the video.
However, there is one drawback of the P-i-P feature. Users cannot view a video shared from the link if the link is shared within the platform. Moreover, it will also not work if a video is shared from other platforms. That’s a big drawback of the feature and we hope to see this resolved in future updates.
To enable this feature go to Google Play Store and download or update the latest version of WhatsApp and follow the instructions as mentioned above.
Apart from that WhatsApp is currently working with the Indian Government to launch a ‘Proactive AI tool’ which will detect hate/fake messages.
