Today, MIUI officially announced that the Xiaomi 8 series flagships have added two heavyweight features: 960fps slow-motion video and handheld super night scenes. This update was already available for some models in this series like the Xiaomi Mi 8 but now, all the flagships in the series are receiving the update. The Xiaomi Mi 8 series was launched on May 31st in Shenzhen. At the time, Xiaomi introduced Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE (quasi flagship) and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. A few months later, the company added the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite (mid-range) to take the number of smartphones in the series to five although only three are flagship smartphones.
Users of the Xiaomi 8 series can check the update by going to Settings→My Device→MIUI Version. Users of Xiaomi Mi 8 and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition can upgrade to the latest system. Users of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro can upgrade to the latest development version.
