Lenovo S5 Pro GT version released with Snapdragon 660 SoC

Today, Chinese manufacturing giant, Lenovo, held a lunch event at its global Headquarters in Beijing where it released three smartphones including Lenovo Z5s, Lenovo Z5 Pro SD 855 Version and Lenovo S5 Pro GT Version. The Lenovo Z5s was much anticipated but the other devices were a complete surprise. At the opening of the conference, Lenovo first introduced the Lenovo S5 Pro GT version which upgraded to Qualcomm Snapdragon 660AIE processor as the regular Lenovo S5 Pro uses a Snapdragon 636 processor.

Gizchina News of the week

The Lenovo S5 Pro GT version is consistent with the standard Lenovo S5 Pro in many ways. It still uses a 6.2-inch Incell full-screen display with a battery capacity of 3500 mAh and support for AI game acceleration.

In the camera department, we have a dual AI selfie configuration of 20MP (Sony IMX476) + 8MP AI. This camera is equipped with a unique AI algorithm, one-button easy to switch and other features. More importantly, Lenovo S5 Pro GT version also supports super wide-angle zero-light face unlocking thus even in very low light environments, the face unlock still works properly.

The Lenovo S5 Pro GT version is available in three versions: 4GB+64GB which cost 1198 yuan ($174), 6GB+64GB version with a 1298 yuan ($188) price tag and 6GB+128GB version which sells for 1498 yuan ($217). Pre-ordering of this smartphone started today while the first official sale will commence from December 24th.
