Nokia 8 is preparing to finally receive the official update to Android 9 Pie, the beta test has now come to an end.

HMD Global was directly informed of the successful conclusion of the tests. It wanted to thank all the users who took part in the beta program of Nokia 8 and with their feedback that helped to make the update in a stable version ready to distribution. Among other things, the beta Android 9 Pie for Nokia 8, had proved a lot of stability.

In the same message of thanks, HMD Global has communicated to the users of Nokia 8 interested to return to the stable build based on Android Oreo pending the release of the official update to Android 9 Pie, reminding them to make a backup of their data before proceeding, as the downgrade involves the deletion of apps and files on the smartphone.

This is obviously just an option, since users not interested in returning to the previous release of Android can safely continue to use their Nokia 8 without doing anything. The only difference between the beta version of Android 9 Pie currently in use and the upcoming stable is represented by the Feedback App. Those who continue to use the beta will soon receive a security update before the next release.

It is worth to mention that the Gesture-based navigation option was missing on the Beta as well as the Adaptive Battery and Digital Wellbeing features. Hopefully, the stable build will brings these missing features.

In short, Nokia 8 owners may get the official update to Android Pie later today or in the next few hours.
