DxOMark has just published the results of its in-depth analysis of the Google Pixel 3 smartphone camera.
The Google Pixel 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with 4 GB of RAM, along with 64 or 128 GB of storage. For the camera, Google has chosen not to add a second lens, relying on its dual pixel sensor and software functionalities that provide zoom and bokeh.
The Pixel 3 comes with a special mode called Night Vision that can achieve excellent image results in low light conditions by stacking multiple frames.
With a total score of 101 points, the Google Pixel 3 is tied with the Apple iPhone XR in the first position of single-camera phones, but it remains in eighth place in the global ranking of smartphones.

Despite all its advances in image processing and improvement in Bokeh and Zoom scores, the Pixel 3 is still behind the best phones with multiple cameras in those areas. Therefore, for users who are looking for the latest in portrait photography, and who do not care about the larger size of any of the high-end smartphones, DxOMark recommends evaluating other alternatives.
