Seems like many smartphone companies keep using exaggerating methods to deceive customers in order to promote or sell their products. Previously, Lenovo had teased a smartphone with bezel-less display and had launched the device with a big chin at the bottom and recently Samsung was caught taking images from DSLRs to pass as camera samples. Now the news are opening up that OnePlus used inaccurate methods in advertising OnePlus 6T by cutting bezels of their latest OnePlus 6T.
One Twitter user with sharp eyes noticed an Ad running of OnePlus on Facebook and Instagram app which is misleading as the ad showing OnePlus 6T having minimal bezels but in reality it does not have that much thinner bezels. Surely the OnePlus took the unfair path to promote their product. This approach definitely puts a bad impression on the company. Take a look at the video yourself.
Gizchina News of the week
In the past, Google was also caught red-handed cropping the bezels of Pixel 3XL in one of its own Home advertisements. However, later the company corrected the ad. Moreover, Netizens had also spotted the similar mistake which it explained on Twitter. Surprisingly, not all the time these unfair methods are spotted, however, this time OnePlus got caught doing it and now the company will have to face the consequences.
The practice of using improper methods needs to be discontinued as it will create a negative impact on the company. Not only showing unreal products but promoting a product with false information should be considered the same. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus would react on this.
