Back in 2009, Nokia was titled as the best mobile company around the globe. A year later, the Taiwanese HTC overthrew it and become the best company in the smartphone industry. But Samsung and Apple were not sitting in their hands. Since 2012, the South Korean Samsung and the Cupertino-based Apple have been considered as the best smartphone makers. This is going to change soon. Young firms, particularly those from China, are too ambitious. And they are going to unseat those at the top. Of course, this is good for consumers. Yesterday, the much-popular ‘Fortune’ released its own version of the best five smartphones of the year. Let’s get acquainted with them.
The IDC data shows that the entire smartphone market is slowing. In the third quarter, the smartphone shipments fell 6% to 355.2 million units from the same period last year, continuing a year-long decline. Under this circumstance, there are still many new products released by the smartphone manufacturers that deserve our attention. Here are the ones that caught Fortune’s eye based on their combination of attractive hardware, good battery life, and excellent cameras.
