Today, IDC released the top five wearable device manufacturers in the Chinese market for the third quarter of 2018 (Q3 2018). According to the report, in the third quarter of this year, China’s wearable device market shipped 14.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%. Xiaomi Mi Band 3 and its NFC version drove the overall shipment growth in the third quarter. In the third quarter, Xiaomi wearable device shipments reached 4.193 million, with a market share of 28.9%, an increase of 37.8 %. Huawei and Honor released new band in the quarter so their impact was not felt much – perhaps in the next quarter. In the third quarter, Huawei’s wearable device shipments were 1.549 million units, with a market share of 11% and shipments up 12.9% year-on-year.

In addition, BBK also achieved remarkable results. It shipped 1.323 million units, up by 63.8% year-on-year to rank fourth. Qihoo 360 was limited by the 2G overall market decline on the children’s watch. On the other hand, the online channel suffered more competitive pressure, resulting in a continuous decline in its shipments. In the third quarter, Qihoo 360’s wearable device shipments reached 568,000 units, down 27.4% year-on-year. Aba-cho children’s watch under Wuzhou Wireless ranked fifth in terms of stable performance in the 4G market, with shipments of 552,000 units in the third quarter.
