Official: Essential Phone will not be re-stocked

Andy Rubin’s Essential released its maiden smartphone Essential PH-1 and after a couple of price cuts, this smartphone was quite affordable. However, it was quite disappointing that the Essential PH-2 could not follow up shortly after the Essential PH-1. Today, the company announced that the Essential PH-1 has gone out of stock and it will not be re-stocking it. This means that this smartphone has been officially discontinued. However, the device will still receive software support and accessories.

An Essential spokesperson states:

Gizchina News of the week

We are sold out of Essential Phone on essential.com and won’t be adding any new inventory. We are now hard at work on our next mobile product and will continue to sell accessories and provide speedy software updates and customer support to our existing community.

The Essential Phone may still be available in some retail stores but on the official website, its all gone. The company will now shift its attention to other mobile devices though it was not specific on which device it is currently working on. Essential Phone was released way back in 2017 and despite the fact that there were a couple of speculations on its successor, there was no official hope that this smartphone will be getting a successor.
