In January 2019, Finland will be one of the first countries to launch a commercial 5G network. Swedish telecommunications company Telia is one of the three operators to obtain commercial 5G licenses. Telia has partnered with Nokia to test 5G in Finland. Telia’s 5G project director in Finland, Janne Koistinen, said that Nokia’s achievements in wireless technology, coupled with government support, have enabled Finland to compete with larger countries for 5G technology.
