Recently, Samsung started rolling out the stable Android 9 Pie update for the Galaxy S9/S9 plus and the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to get this update from January 15. Although there were reports that it was causing serious battery drain, this is nothing that the company can’t handle. However, it appears that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ Night mode feature won’t be getting all its functions.

Specifically, the option to automatically enable/disable night mode according to time and location is not available in the official version of the update. Therefore, if the user wants to achieve the night mode display, they also need to rely on third-party tools or themes. The Night mode was one of the features that attracted attention when this build beta was announced, the description suggests that this feature can be enabled on a schedule. It now seems that Samsung decided to expunge this feature from the final update.
However, on the user manual, the availability to activate night mode on schedule is still available. This creates the possibility that the update rolling out in some countries is not the final build. Nevertheless, let’s not rule out the possibility that Samsung may have decided to remove this feature but forgot to erase some related phrases in the user manual.
