We had heard that iPhone models for 2019 will look very similar to the 2018 versions, but now Forbes has shared some additional details.
According to Jean Baptiste Su, vice president and principal analyst at Atherton Research, the 2019 iPhones will have a USB-C port and will be equipped with in-display Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
USB-C could make it easier for iPhone users to find accessories for their handset. With that, it could also help them find cheaper alternatives instead of paying a premium to Apple. As for the in-display Touch ID, a number of Android smartphones today feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, so implementing the tech shouldn’t be a huge issue.

It is also rumored that there will be a smaller notch in the 2019 iPhones, which makes quite good sense since as technology evolves, it decreases in size.
Apple could also add a TrueDepth Camera to the back of the 2019 iPhones and incorporate “Time of Flight” method which is a less expensive system that is easier to manufacture than the current method.
It is worth to mention that Apple CEO, Tim Cook has announced that the revenue forecast and gross margin expectations for the first fiscal quarter of 2019 are downgrading, mainly due to supply constraints and some emerging market weakness.
