Palm recently came back from the dead last year when it announced a mini 3.3-inch Android phone in the US. It’s actually called Palm Phone and the handset which is intended to be a sidekick to your regular smartphone has now landed on Asian shores in Hong Kong. As per Hong Kong media, the miniature phone will sell for HK$2,988 (approximately $380). That’s understandable considering it’s priced $350 in the US.
Gizchina News of the week
As a quick recap, the Plam Phone that fits in the palm comes with a Snapdragon 435 SoC, has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage and a tiny 3.3-inch screen to go with a tiny 800mAh battery. With that tiny screen, it still manages to run a full-blown Android 8.1 Oreo, but tweaked with a custom overlay somewhat similar to Apple’s WatchOS.
It also has a single 12MP rear camera and a front-facing 8MP shooter and has an IP68 rating. As per reports, the Palm Phone will be shipped with a physical SIM option and an eSIM variant will be made available later on. The handset will be sold in Gold and Silver colour options and TCL said that sales will start on January 20.
