Google is preparing to make YouTube Music the default audio client of Android

In the past few hours, the team of Google has kicked off the first update of YouTube Music for 2019, bringing the app to version 2.65. This is an update that does not introduce new features worthy of note but whose code confirms some of the features on which the developers are focusing.

One of these is the possibility of transforming the application into a real music player of multimedia contents stored on the device, a real crucial step because this service can replace Play Music in all respects.

In the version 2.65 code, icons have also been found suggesting that this application can be included among the pre-installed ones, thus becoming the default audio client of the Google mobile operating system (obviously only after all the features that are still missing are included).

The YouTube Music team, finally, seems to have in mind to rename Smart Downloads, the feature that allows you to download the favorite songs under WiFi coverage, so you have them always at your disposal.

YouTube Music 2.65 is rolling out now via the Play Store. For more please stay tuned.
