Today, Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, announced the official unveiling of its new Redmi sub-brand which will be in charge of its cost-effective device. Technically, this means that the Redmi brand will compromise some features in its phones to keep the price low. However, according to speculations, this smartphone was going to sell for about $450. Now, Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 7 and the highest variant sells for less than half the speculated amount.
The Redmi Note 7 comes in three options which include the 3GB+32GB version priced at 999 yuan ($147), the 4GB+64GB version which sells for 1199 yuan ($176), and the 6GB+64GB version which comes with a 1399 yuan ($206). The smartphone will be officially released for sale at 10:00 on January 15. The company provides this device in three colours which include Twilight Gold, Dream Blue, and Bright Black. All the colour options sell for the same price.
Gizchina News of the week
The smartphone uses a 6.3-inch waterdrop screen which makes it the first waterdrop screen phone in the Redmi Rice series and in Xiaomi at large. It is powered by a fully-optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor clocked up to 2.2GHz. The company claims that this chip performs far better than the regular Snapdragon 660 SoC and it even performs better than Kirin 710. In addition, the Redmi is equipped with a new graphite negative anode 4000 mAh large battery which supports QC 4 standard. It has a dual rear camera setup including a massive 48MP sensor which comes with the handheld super night scene mode found in other Xiaomi flagships. It is worth noting that the Redmi Note 7 comes with a standard USB Type-C interface, and also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

“optimized” sd660 has score of 144000 while mi pad 4 with sd660 also has 146000. What variant interested me is the 6+64 for $206 price is fair. Again in one month or so redmi 7 pro will be out with SD675, long story short wait for SD675 variant.
Yup. I’m in for a SD675 and I don’t mind paying an extra 100$.
Definitely worth the price, the phone at that price is a steal, I don’t think there’s anything similar at that price.
