Redmi Note 7 with a 48MP camera and dual Gorilla glass to sell tomorrow for 999 Yuan ($148)


On January 14th, Xiaomi announced that Redmi Note 7 will be officially released for sales on January 15th. The Redmi Note 7 comes in three options which include the 3GB+32GB version priced at 999 yuan ($148), the 4GB+64GB version which sells for 1199 yuan ($176), and the 6GB+64GB version which comes with a 1399 yuan ($206). The company provides this device in three colours which include Twilight Gold, Dream Blue, and Bright Black.

The Redmi Note 7 is equipped with a 48MP + 5MP ultra-clear dual rear camera and the 48MP main shooter is 4 times higher than the mainstream 12MP. It can get more details when taking pictures, and it has a top-notch zooming capacity. For the dark environment, the 48MP sensor comes with an automatic four-in-one 1.6μm high-pixel high-sensitivity mode, and the single-pixel photosensitive area is four times that of the original. This smartphone comes with the same algorithm of Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 super night scene mode. No need for a tripod as the hand-held capability can shoot a very clear night scene image.

This smartphone adopts the same quality standards as Xiaomi’s flagship mobile phone. Further checks and filter increases its quality input. In addition, Redmi has increased the warranty time from the conventional 12 months to 18 months for the Redmi Note 7. Lei Jun said that “18 months super long warranty” requires a lot of cost in the R&D, testing and after-sales service system. Redmi Note 7 is the first in the industry to implement the 18-month long warranty.

The Redmi Note 7 uses a 6.3-inch waterdrop screen which makes it the first waterdrop screen phone in the Redmi Rice series and in Xiaomi at large. The display comes with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and uses a Corning Gorilla glass 5 protection. It achieves a 450 nits brightness, 84% NTSC color gamut, stepless color temperature adjustment, luminous screen, eye protection mode, etc. Like we said earlier, the Redmi Note 7 is powered by a fully-optimized Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor clocked up to 2.2GHz.
