Lei Jun: Xiaomi Mi 9 to come with an improved fast charge option


Chinese manufacturing giant, Xiaomi, is getting ready to unleash its 2019 flagship series. Similarly, Mi fans around the world are looking forward to the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 9 series. Today, some netizens threw various questions at Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun on Weibo and one of his answer was definite. A fan asked, “Will Xiaomi Mi 9 have a 24W or higher charging power?”. Lei Jun replied, “Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with a better charging power”. According to the style of Xiaomi, Xiaomi Mi 9 will be released in the first half of the year.

Previously, a new Xiaomi smartphone called “Cepheus” appeared on GeekBench’s website. It may be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is the flagship platform launched by Qualcomm in December 2018. It is built on a 7nm process and uses a three-cluster eight-core architecture with an Adreno 640 GPU.

The Snapdragon 855 is equipped with the fourth-generation multi-core artificial intelligence engine (AI Engine) which can achieve 3 times higher AI performance than the previous generation. It also integrates the world’s first computer vision (CV) ISP to support cutting-edge computing photography and video capture. In addition to the Snapdragon 855, the Xiaomi Mi 9 may be equipped with a 48MP lens (Sony IMX586) with a unit pixel area of 0.8μm. In the dark light condition, four pixels are intelligently aggregated into 1.6μm large pixels, and 12MP pixels high-quality night landscape photos will be the output. The imaging effect of this smartphone is worth anticipating.
