Compared to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL of 2017, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL offer a higher proportion of screen but maintain the upper frame in the case of Pixel 3 and a large notch in the case of the Pixel 3 XL. The latest patents obtained by Google suggest that the company may be working on a frameless design for Pixel 4 this year.
The new patent has appeared in the database of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) a few days ago and the schemes indicate that its back will continue to present a double-tone design.
The upper part, which could be made of glass, still has a single camera like the previous models. The remaining part of the rear surface could be metal. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone.

The front of the phone is displayed in white, suggesting that it could have a screen without bezel. Therefore, we do not know where the front camera would be. There is a USB-C port on the bottom of the device and there is no 3.5mm audio jack.
Another Google patent shows a Google Pixel phone with reduced frames around the screen. The upper and lower frames are very thin, but still manage to accommodate the two front speakers. The upper frame is so thin that it is not known if there is a front camera.
If Google uses the designs shown in its patents for the Pixel 4, its rear appearance will be almost the same as the previous model but the front will undergo a major design change.
