Redmi Note 7 second sale registers more than 400,000 reservations

Redmi – now an independent brand from Xiaomi – recently released its newest phone, the Redmi Note 7, and ran its first sale last Tuesday, January 15. The expectations were high, but certainly met as all 100,000 available units were sold out in about 8 minutes.

Following the success of the first sale, Redmi prepared another flash sale last Friday, January 18, and the reservations are still open. The smartphone page on Jingdong, one of China’s biggest e-commerce, registered more than 400,000 reservations. This shouldn’t be much of a surprise though, considering Xiaomi’s popularity on the platform.

Unfortunely for those interested in buying the phone, it’s quite unlikely that the available supply will be able to cater for all those people. Earlier, the company hinted that they would provide up to 1 million units of the Note 7 in January, an amount that will probably get exhausted quickly, especially if we take into consideration all units being sold through online stores.

The Redmi Note 7 comes with a 48MP+5MP dual AI camera, with a unit pixel area of 0.8μm; for selfies, it also has a 13MP shooter. The smartphone uses a 6.3-inch 2340×1080 display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and a 4000 mAh battery. It runs the most recent MIUI 10 (based on Android 9 Pie) straight out of the box, and is available in three colors: Dream Blue, Twilight Gold and Bright Black.
