Huang Zhang accepts Qualcomm’s interview: discusses the key to Meizu 16 success

On the occasion of the Spring Festival in 2019, Qualcomm China once again launched a special feature for the “New Year’s Eve”. This is a one-on-one interview with senior mobile phone manufacturers in China, reviewing their achievements in the past year and planning for the future. Today, Qualcomm China officially released the text interview of Huang Zhang, chairman, and CEO of Meizu. In the interview, Huang Zhang talked about his views on mobile phones, 5G and AI.

Huang Zhang believes that the prospects of 5G and AI are very broad. In 2019, it will be a starting point for Meizu, but it is still far from the mature stage. Next, the company will actively construct 5G construction together with Qualcomm.

“AI is actually big data statistics, recommending the most needed or the most correct results for users according to different scenarios and different needs. Currently, AI is just at its infancy, I believe that its future prospects are great, but the current AI applications have been exaggerated.”

Huang Zhang said that 2019 is the beginning of 5G trial commercialization and in 2020 it will kick off in full scale. Meizu will also work closely with Qualcomm and actively lay out 5G construction. At the same time, he also revealed that Meizu 2019 will lay out 5G, IoHT (Internet of Things for health & sports) while maintaining product advantages.

For Meizu 16, Huang Zhang believes that the key to its success is to listen to the user needs. We were able to create a full-screen smartphone without bangs and a narrow border of 1.43mm. This is unique in the era of full-screen devices.
