OPPO is among the top smartphone makers around the globe. This means millions of users trust this brand and think it makes the best smartphones. In fact, there are many OPPO-branded devices that are full of technology and look like a piece of art. Among the latest models with such characteristics, we can mention the OPPO Find X. But we also should mention the company’s R series models that are considered to be great flagships competing with the top brand smartphones. But there is a worrisome thing – it makes only smartphones. This is going to be fixed soon.
OPPO CEO, Chen Mingyong said in an interview with Qualcomm China that the company had established the emerging mobile terminal business unit at the beginning of this year to explore the 5G+ era. He also added that ‘they will take the lead in targeting smartwatches and smart headphones.’

For the 5G+ era, smartphones will remain the core and hub of all things, and OPPO will soon launch new smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. At the same time, OPPO plans to launch 5G smartphones in the first half of 2019.
Though the smartphones will remain the core product in OPPO’s business, Chen Mingyong said that the company is also actively building an open IoT platform, accelerating the development of AI+IoT technology, providing an open IoT access agreement, and working with partners and developers to build IoT products and services.
